3 Key Things to Working with a Photographer
In case you’ve missed the first 50 blogs I’ve written, I am all about education. Part of that is learning to work with one another. If you’re new to the business or have always had a friend help you out, you may get a bit of anxiety when it comes to outsourcing parts of your business.
So let’s talk about hiring a product or brand photographer and the 3 key things to ensure you get exactly what you’re hoping for.
First, is something I say ALL THE TIME. A Photographer is not a one size fits all. There are benefits to hiring photographers who are tailored fit to working with businesses and product businesses at that. I’ll save that chat for my next blog though.
For now when picking a photographer make sure to explore their style and examples of their previous work. Its a great indicator for their style, lighting and whether or not they can capture the angles and details you need.
Second, developing trust. Whether you’re hiring someone to help with marketing, emails, your content or even your website you want to trust the person you’re working with. So you should definitely do the same with your photographer. Trust with any creative allows for more possibility and creativity so you can continue to be pleasantly surprised with your images every time.
Last and most importantly is clear communication and a clear plan. When you don’t know what you need or want with your images it is hard to tell that to a photographer. In return it is hard to ensure what we delivered is what you need. So, each business has monthly goals and ideas so keeping clear lines of communication, confirming objectives and knowing what you’re able to achieve in each shoot ensures success.
So friend, if you missed my last blog then you know I believe in conversation over the phone to establish what you need. This helps you in that if you’re confused, not sure if you can hire me or any other photographer. Let’s talk!
