2 Things to Plan for Right Now

2 Things to Plan for Right Now

2 Things to Plan for Right Now

2 Things to Plan for Right Now

Planning is always a taxing task, but here is your September reminder to plan these 2 things!

Plan for Fall:

It’s officially September, and that means it’s time to start thinking about fall. If you’re like me (I live in Arizona where it’s still one-hundred degrees) it may be difficult to start wrapping your head around fall. However, stores and retailers are great ways to find fall inspiration. Many businesses are already putting out fall decor and getting ready for the upcoming season, which means it’s time for your business to do the same.

Plan for Black Friday:

Fall can be a very busy season. It’s important to start planning for Black Friday, now. To be successful with your sales, you need to keep up with your visibility and remain consistent with your marketing efforts. It’s also important to develop a strategic plan for how you will market your products and offerings, specifically for Black Friday.

Here are 3 things you need to do to be successful this fall and on Black Friday:

Identify what your marketing campaign is going to be

First, you’ll want to think about your fall marketing. How do you want to approach your fall marketing? What would you like to do with your fall marketing? It’s important to get a strategy in place now, so you can be prepared to show up well, when the time comes to push sales, run Black Friday specials, promote Halloween sales, and introduce fall to your followers and audience.

Once you’ve done this, you’ll want to identify what your marketing campaign is going to be and how you will carry it out. You may be launching a new product, introducing fall-themed items, or offering specials or discounts. By identifying your offering, you can establish a strategy for carrying out your marketing campaign and then incorporate the proper information into your marketing materials (emails, social media content, Reels, etc.).

Plan your photoshoots and videos

High-quality photos and videos are necessary for your marketing. A professional photoshoot will allow you to compile a great selection of high-quality photos and videos that can be used throughout your fall marketing. Once you’ve identified what your marketing campaign will be, you can plan a photoshoot that is specifically tailored to your campaign. Having a photoshoot focused around what your content will be for October, November, and December is going to be key in making sure you are successful, and that your team is fully equipped with the content they need to run promotions and plan ahead.

You’ll also need to determine where your photos will need to be updated (website, social platforms, blogs, etc.). Identifying where updates will need to be made will allow you to more effectively plan your photoshoot and ensure you capture the right photos and videos for specific platforms. Photos and videos can also be used in ads, or as supplemental information that you can share with your audience, this fall.

Plan for Black Friday

Black Friday is just around the corner. It’s important to start thinking about the sales, discounts, and special product offerings that you want to provide for Black Friday. Developing a strategy and plan now, will allow you to more effectively promote your Black Friday deals, market your Black Friday offerings, and prepare for day-of sales. It is helpful to first identify what your goals are for Black Friday, and then develop a strategy and marketing campaign that are aligned with those goals.

To set yourself up for success this season, it’s important to start planning for fall and Black Friday. By identifying your goals and marketing campaigns, planning your photoshoots and videos, and developing a plan for your Black Friday promotions and sales, you can get a jump-start on the upcoming season. Don’t wait until the last minute to start thinking about your content, strategy, products, promotions, and campaigns, or you may end up with little to no sales.

Content Marketing Trends for 2021

Welcome to the Crystal Clear Podcast where we strive to empower the everyday creative boss to elevate and grow a business that matches your creativity and passion for creating products.

Things mentioned in this podcast episode:

New year, new content trends? During the first month of the year, there is always talk about the marketing trends for the coming months. Today I want to share with you the top 4 marketing trends I see for 2021.

Top 4 Content Marketing Trends for 2021:

1. Natural Faced Models – In 2021, simple is in. Everyone is scaling back and putting a focus on taking care of themselves and making self-care a priority. You are going to see that companies will be looking for more simple and natural-looking images. Especially for skincare companies and more holistic based companies, you are going to notice more natural faced models with less makeup and a very simple, natural look.

2. Lifestyle photography – People are looking for authentic, natural, and in-action images. You will see more connections being made on how a product is intended to be used. Skincare in the bathroom, products on a nightstand beside the bed. Authentic connections to people, products, and what others are doing.

3. Keywords and search-friendly content- Instagram is becoming more search-friendly with the capability to search keywords on the app now. The combination of good keywords and great images will be what makes a difference in getting your content seen and noticed for 2021.

4. Video Marketing – Video is huge right now. All of the social media platforms are favoring video content. It is hands down the easiest way to get your products and content seen in 2021. Video ad’s have been proving to perform better in converting a cold market into a warm one and a warm market into buying customers.

These are the top 4 trends I see as being vital in your content marketing strategy for 2021. Trying and testing to see what is going to work for you is the best way. These 4 trends also complement each other nicely. For example, using a natural faced model in a lifestyle based photo for your video will pair well with good keywords on Instagram to help get your content seen. You will just have to play around will these different techniques and see what is working for your audience and performing well on your social platforms.

Why No One Is Seeing Your Content & How to Fix it!

Welcome to the Crystal Clear Podcast where we strive to empower the everyday creative boss to elevate and grow a business that matches your creativity and passion for creating products.

Things mentioned in this podcast episode:

First, the reason why no one is seeing your content is that you are truly not sharing it enough! It’s tough to step back and realize just how many times we need to talk about a particular product, offer or service to get the audience to start to see us as that subject matter expert but it’s often the reasons why no one is seeing your content!

So how could you fix that? Try taking a former blog and pulling out just 1 tip to highlight and refer back to that blog post as the call to action. This gives value, a quick piece of content to post and ties back to what you do to solve their problem. In this episode you will hear me run over several examples of repurposes and tying back your content to what you offer.

Need more support around your content? I’ve got your back with a few easy options!

Continued…

Second, your audience isn’t big enough. That may feel like a duh, thing to say but it’s often very true. Its why one of the key things to do in your business is start first by growing your audience.

To start growing and getting more people in, you can utilize traffic sites like Pinterest to push out both Instagram and Blog related content that leads an audience straight to your freebies! Get them on the list and you in their inbox is key to quick grow and good conversions. Show up and be a resource to others genuinely offer help and your freebies as an option when you see other postings about related struggles that your product or service can solve. You can set a timer and pop in to various facebook groups and be engaged in questions that are going on involving your ideal client.

Lastly, your images and graphics aren’t appealing! Ouch, I know! But its very very true. This is why there are stock shops and templates out there to help you grow your business visually. I would do you any justice as a Photographer and Creative Director if I didn’t stop and say hey, you need to take a look at what you’re putting out there.

You should take a moment to gather together a set of 10-15 graphics that are already customized and set up to fit your brand. Then, rinse and repeat!

Let me know how I can support you and grow your business and get your content up to par so that you can get your stuff out there and people can start buying the products and things that you have to offer because we both know they are amazing.

Ready to outsource and take this off your plate? Start the year off strong for any product launches with a custom photoshoot by booking a call with me to see how I can help you develop eye catching content or maybe you’ve used the heck out of all of those photos it might be time for a refresher.

5 Ways to Educate Your Influencers For Better Visual Branding

Product companies (like yourself) often turn to influencers or friends of many levels to promote their product, get reviews, and photos of the products in action.

W

hile they’re doing you a huge favor, don’t forget it’s okay to set some ground rules to ensure you’re getting exactly what your brand needs. Here are 5 ways to educate your influencers for better visual branding!

1 – Set Guidelines

It’s completely fine to list a few do and don’ts of how you want your product used in a photo. For example, if you design a pillowcase meant for indoors and preferred it not used outside, say so. The good ’ole saying, “you don’t know what you don’t know” rings true here. The influencers you work with can’t read your mind. Layout the ground rules as clear as you possibly can to avoid any confusion or misunderstanding. Otherwise, your product will be used in a completely different way than you want it too. Collaborating with an influencer is a great way to put your product in front of new eyes. But in the end, it’s your product, your brand, and your business name that’s being promoted. Don’t shy away from setting guidelines if you need to.

2 – Review Their Style

Like anything, do your research first before working with an influencer to promote your products. Review their style and see if it aligns with your business and brand. Don’t assume they will shoot or edit the same way you do. You want their audience and yours to relate to the influencer, what they stand for, and their message. Putting your products in front of new audiences is a great way to reach new customers. It does you no good to collaborate with an influencer with no similarities to your brand message or mission. Their audience won’t get it, and neither will yours. Be sure you’re working with people that have the same style as your business and brand.

3 – Require Quality

It’s your product that you’re sharing with the world, and it’s a reflection on you how it comes across to an audience – whether it’s you, a friend, family member, or influencer who is promoting it. Ask about the camera they use or what version of the iPhone they have. Always require quality as a business owner. A product photo is the first impression of your business. Whether the picture is of high quality or not, it reflects you and your brand. Although the image may be a fun one, it’s still a business that you’re running, and the product photo needs to be somewhat professional. A quality image also shows that you and the influencer care about the product. A blurry image may come off like you don’t care and ultimately isn’t as reliable as one that is clear.

4 – Save Image Quality

When you’re working with others who are promoting your product and taking photos with it, you’ll want copies to add to your portfolio, website, social media, etc. To save the image quality, have the person you collaborate with send you an email or upload the images to dropbox to avoid diminishing the image quality. The bigger file you can work with, the better it will be for you to make any additional edits. The digital journey is just as crucial as the photoshoot itself.

5 – Stay Consistent

Even though someone else may be taking photos with your product and you plan on using them for your personal use, you still need to keep consistency in mind. The more you’re consistent across the board with your photos, the more you build brand recognition with your ideal audience. Consistency is key, so feel free to add your own tweaks to the images you receive to keep your social media feeds consistent. Your audience then begins to realize your brand just by looking at a photo.

Conclusion

Don’t be shy when it comes to educating others on how you want your products showcased in photos. It’s your hard work on display. Collaborations are a great way to reach a wider audience, but be sure that you team up with someone who aligns with your message and mission. Ideally, the influencer will have an audience that knows, likes, and trusts them and would be more than willing to check out your product if they’re promoting it. If you’re trying to find a better way to educate your influencers for better visual branding, check out my favorite Mind Map Tool. Get your ideas in order and better communicate with someone you want to collaborate with. If you have any questions or concerns, you can leave me a message. 3 Steps to Get the Most Out of Using Images in Your Marketing

Without a doubt your product photos are a crucial part of your business marketing strategy.

T

hey’re the first impression people have of your business and brand. Not only do you want to highlight your products in your images, but you want to make sure you’re getting the most out of using them in your marketing. Here are 3 steps to show you how.

1. Highlight a Clear Call-to-Action

Social media has become more and more business-savvy over the years. On platforms like Instagram, you can link your entire product catalog all within the app. You can also turn on shopping features where your customers can buy your products directly from Instagram. Use your images to highlight your product’s unique pieces and then follow up with a clear call-to-action by tagging that product back to your shop.

As a business owner, you want to make the process as easy as possible for potential or current customers. If someone happens to be scrolling on Instagram and lands on your page, likes your product, and wants to buy – you want to encourage that by creating a clear path to purchase. Give your customers the information they need to know – where to go and what to do if they want to buy.

2. Understand and Address Customer Concerns

Use your product images to show how and where people are using your product. First, you need to understand your customer’s journey. What are their struggles? How does your product help them?

When you address customer concerns, it creates relationships and bridges the gap with why customers should click “buy.” Customers want to feel understood. Show that your products are what they need by addressing their pain points in your product images. What does your product solve? Dry skin, prevents aging, decor for a new home, vintage and classic style, dressing up a casual outfit. Whatever it is, you want to make sure that your ideal audience needs it.

Anything that you think your customers can benefit from, share. They will appreciate your transparency and can rely on you to tell them what they need to know.

3. Share What Makes Your Product Unique

Don’t hold back when it comes to sharing what makes your product different from the rest. Show the combined ways it can be used outside of the unconventional or the ways that it is unique to your audience. People want to know why they need another product. Use your images to highlight those points.

It always helps to think outside the box. How can you display your photos in a way that will grab someone’s attention? What about your product is so unique that someone should buy it? When trying to get the most out of your images, these are questions to consider—plan on how you want to capture your products through photography.

Conclusion

You get the most out of using your images in marketing by making the path to purchase more accessible for your customers. Tag your products in your social media photos so that it’s a quick tap of a button that leads them to where they need to go. Understand what it is they need and share why they need it.
