5 Reasons Why Stock Photos Are a Temporary Fix
Raise your hand if you started with stock photos on your site? (raising hand) We all did, but at one point your brand may out grow stock photos and mock ups. Especially if you are considered a maker or creative that has a physical item to sell.
That’s why its important to me to give you what I think are the 5 reasons why stock photos are just temporary.
First, Stock photos lower conversion rate. If you’re not deep into the marketing side of things let me give it to you in every day terms. It basically means that people are less likely to click your ad and see what you have to offer or buy your product. This is because the image are widely used and popular so if someone else is using it to promote their business and you are using it for yours, social media sees that as inauthentic.
Next, stock photos lack authenticity, need I say more. I think I just connected that dot but you can’t stand out as well using a stock image versus something more original and tailored to your brand.
After that, you can see that stock photos can be bought by anyone and let’s face it our favorites probably have been purchase by a lot of people in the same industry.
The fourth thing, is your vision versus someone else’s – you have control over the thoughts and feeling your images can provoke. This is why investing in your photography can really benefit your overall goals and growing your business.
Lastly, save the TIME, no more hunting for photos only to settle for one that is less than perfect. Stock photos may be in many places these days but who has the time to search and search for ONE good photo to post?
BONUS! – Considering professional photos? While a photographer has more upfront costs the images are yours… forever. So don’t forget that investing in your images is investing in your business.
