4 Ways to be Budget Savvy with Your Photoshoot
Girl, doing a brand shoot is tough, scary and even stressful. So let’s take some of the pressure off by talking about 4 ways you can be more budget savvy with your photoshoot.
Taking a bit of control allows you to manage expectations, costs and outcomes.
To dive right in, consider first buying your own props. You can set a budget or control what you end up buying. The best part is if you don’t use it you can return it. I have worked with numerous clients that have brought way more than we ended up using and were able to return and reduce the costs for the things they didn’t need.
Next, love your home? Pulling props and furniture from home can save you a TON! I once had a client show up with her favorite desk chair, accessories and a table. If it can fit in your SUV, truck or even your car, go for it! Just don’t hurt yourself. A lot of times you can lean on your photographer but if it doesn’t weigh a ton and you have the bandwidth bring whatever suits your brand. Like a small desk and even your kids stuff like the cute pillows and trinkets. Need more help?! — How about your photo frames? You can easily replace photos with cute inspiration print off from Etsy to make a fun wall of images during your shoot.
Another great way to save money is to partner with a stylist. Not a hair or makeup stylist I am talking about a good clothing stylist. Someone like my friend Loren at Through The Closet Door can help you to mix up your every day wardrobe for a new look. They work with client virtually and in person for your convenience.
Last, try a Coworking space to save money on the location and rental fees for your shoot. Most of the time they are cheaper than a photo studio, Air BNB or other options you can rent. With a coworking space you can rent hourly or full day and usually have a great source of natural light.
So, see how much you can control and budget? Its pretty amazing what you can get done to save the money and accomplish a great photoshoot. I love to be a resource for you so if you have questions or are still not to sure how you can reduce costs, lets talk!
See you soon friend!
